Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.
Your school trip to Thailand & Laos awaits
You’re about to embark on an incredible two-country adventure. Thailand is a traveller’s paradise, from the mountains and hill tribes of the north, to the tropical forests and paradise islands down south. Follow your curiosity to glittering temples and vibrant markets, then fuel up with green curry or spicy shrimp soup. Head off the tourist trail on challenging treks, get immersed in rural life or escape to the coast where magnificent marine life teems offshore.
Curving around northeast Thailand, Laos has the most laidback vibes in Southeast Asia. Dive in to discover emerald green landscapes, orange-robed monks and the mighty Mekong River, which runs through the length of the country.
Remember, you’re walking the path towards true global citizenship. Tap into your inner potential, step forward to contribute and absorb everything this trip can teach you about the world and your place within it.
