Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

Your school trip to Iceland awaits
Travel to the top of the globe and brace yourself for the raw power of Mother Nature. With erupting geysers, bubbling mud pools, and steaming volcanoes, Iceland is a country still in the making, its landscape shaped by the forces of fire and ice.
Hear glaciers crack and waterfalls thunder as you explore the famous Golden Circle. Time-travel back to the Viking era, then fast-forward to modern-day, a pioneering nation powered by renewable energy. Visit Reykjavik, the world’s most northerly capital, and immerse yourself in Icelandic culture. Chow down on hot dogs, meet the locals, and experience the unique blend of ancient tradition and cutting-edge innovation.
On this student adventure, venture deep into national parks, hike across dramatic terrain, and put your teamwork to the test on unmarked trails.
This school expedition is about more than just adventure, it’s an opportunity to connect with nature, explore sustainability, and develop the resilience and teamwork skills that will stay with you for life. Are you ready for an unforgettable school trip?
“ The whole experience from start to finish was the best I've ever had. We met so many amazing people who changed our outlook on life when we arrived home.”
