Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

Your school trip to Cambodia awaits
Nestled in Southeast Asia, Cambodia is a land of rolling plains, forested highlands, and a sparkling southwest coast, with the mighty Mekong River slicing through its heart. While its landscapes are breathtaking, the true beauty lies in its people, their genuine kindness, resilience, and optimism in the face of history’s challenges. This overseas school trip invites you to explore a country shaped by both its ancient past and modern-day spirit.
To truly understand the culture of this incredible country, you must plunge into its past. Stand before jaw-dropping temple ruins, where the stories of powerful ancient kingdoms come to life, and visit memorials that honour those lost during the Khmer Rouge era. On this student adventure, connect with local communities to gain a deeper perspective on Cambodian life, trek into the mountains to meet hill tribes, or venture deep into the jungle, where langur monkeys call from the treetops.
This school expedition is more than just a journey, it’s an opportunity to explore history, culture, and nature while developing resilience, global awareness, and teamwork. Are you ready for the experience of a lifetime?
“ We visited the Temples of Angkor watched the sun rise over the temples which was amazing! On our project, we danced and played in the rain with the school children like we were 6 again! Definitely something l'll never forget!”
