Day 1Arrive in Dubrovnik

Touch down at Dubrovnik airport and travel across the border to the Bay of Kotor. You’ve made it to Montenegro, a country of soaring mountains, beautiful beaches and stirring history. Make sure you get some rest after your flight, you’re about to take the road less travelled and experience the places you’ve been dreaming about. Rugged peaks, ancient forests and sparkling rivers, they’re all here waiting to be explored.
Days 2-5Conservation Initiative
The Bay of Kotor
Spend the next few days between a peaceful campsite overlooking the Bay of Kotor and the quaint village of Krasici. This stunning coastal area, surrounded by turquoise waters and dramatic mountains, is home to endangered cetaceans like dolphins and whales, whose ecosystems face growing threats from human activity. Help an organisation dedicated to protecting marine mammals through conservation strategies, citizen science, and ecological awareness. Their work focuses on fostering sustainable management practices to supporting healthy marine ecosystems. Get involved with beach clean-ups, field research, data collection, and transforming retrieved litter into creative works of art. Learn about the vital role dolphins and whales play in maintaining ocean health and the impact of human behaviour on their survival.
Days 6-7Lovćen National Park Trek
Lovćen Mountain
Embark on a stunning two-day adventure from the coastal beauty of Kotor to the heights of Lovćen Mountain. Start with a trek to Njeguši, a traditional village nestled on the mountain slopes. Renowned for its artisanal cheese and prosciutto, Njeguši offers not only a taste of Montenegrin tradition but also breathtaking views of the Bay of Kotor and the surrounding national park. After a day of hiking, rest up, you’ll need your strength for tomorrow. Then, set your sights on the Jezerski Summit (1,657m), home to the awe-inspiring mausoleum of Petar II Petrović Njegoš, Montenegro’s philosopher-poet and national hero. After exploring this monumental site and enjoying panoramic views that stretch across the Adriatic and beyond, begin your descent. The journey back to Njegusi is a peaceful walk through forested trails, giving you time to reflect on the majesty of Lovćen National Park.
Days 8-9Bjelasica Mountain Trek
Cetinje
Begin in Cetinje, the country’s old royal capital, where a guided tour reveals cultural gems like King Nikola’s Palace and the Cetinje Monastery. Drive through the dramatic Morača Canyon, stopping at the serene 13th-century Morača Monastery, before a guided walk to your campsite for the night. On the second day, hike through the majestic Bjelasica Mountains. Ascend to the Zekova Glava summit for sweeping alpine views. Along the way, visit the shimmering Pešića Lake, a glacial gem surrounded by pristine wilderness. After the hike, return to camp, reflecting on the blend of cultural discovery and natural beauty.
Day 10Explore Podgorica
Podgorica
Head to the main road to catch your transfer to Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. Spend the day exploring and experiencing its charm. Visit the impressive Podgorica Cathedral, known for its stunning architecture and intricate frescoes. Take a leisurely stroll through Gorica Park or admire the views of the Morača River from the Millennium Bridge. Delve into history at King Nikola’s Castle, now a museum with free entry on select days. Enjoy the capital's vibrant atmosphere and sample traditional Montenegrin meals like čevapi, grilled minced meat sausages, and kačamak, a hearty potato and cheese dish. With its mix of nature, culture, and local cuisine, Podgorica offers a delightful day of exploration and discovery.
Day 11Travel Home From Dubrovnik

After the best ten days of your life, it’s time to travel home. Cram everything into your backpack and head to the airport. Check in, sit back and let it all sink in, you’ve just experienced something incredible. Montenegro has opened your eyes and challenged you more than you ever imagined. You’ve fast-tracked your life skills and connected with the locals; you’ve led your team and made new friends for life. These experiences will shape who you are and put you on the path to becoming a true global citizen, so prepare to return home forever changed!

The trip was well-organised and it was great to experience Montenegro for the first time. The people were friendly and the country felt very safe. The rafting and hikes were a particular highlight and gave us a real opportunity to experience what the country had to offer.
