Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.
Your school trip to Sri Lanka awaits
Travel to a tropical island of golden temples, misty mountains and surf-washed sands. Bursting with colour and lapped by the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka is packed with World Heritage sites and has more than 2,000-years-worth of culture.
You’ll get a warm welcome wherever you go, so seize this opportunity to connect with the locals and discover a side of Sri Lanka that most tourists never see. You could be trekking through the tea hills, spotting elephants in the jungle or discussing Buddhism with peace-loving monks. The cuisine is amazing too – think coconut sambal, delicious dhal and refreshing Ceylon tea. It can be sizzling hot out here, so don’t forget your sunblock.
Remember, you’re walking the path towards true global citizenship. Tap into your inner potential, step forward to contribute and absorb everything this trip can teach you about the world and your place within it.
