The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.
Your school trip to Northern Tanzania awaits
Get ready for an East African adventure like no other. Powdery sands glisten in the east and Africa’s tallest mountain rises in the north, while the south is home to untouched wilderness and rare glimpses of traditional life. This is where overland jeeps rumble across the Serengeti, where trekkers are summit-bound for snow-capped peaks, and where the Zanzibar islands are infused with history.
Pile into a jeep, tune into your surroundings and spot sleeping lions or cheetahs on the hunt. Share masala chai with Maasai warriors, engage with communities and learn about local life. Enter mud hut villages, haggle for handicrafts and trek across tribal heartlands.
