Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

Your school trip to Thailand & Laos awaits
You’re about to embark on an incredible two-country adventure to Thailand & Laos. Thailand is a traveller’s paradise, stretching from the mountains and hill tribes of the north to the tropical forests and paradise islands down south. Follow your curiosity to glittering temples and vibrant markets, then fuel up with green curry or spicy shrimp soup. Venture off the tourist trail on challenging treks, immerse yourself in rural life, or escape to the coast, where magnificent marine life teems offshore.
Just northeast of Thailand, Laos has the most laidback vibes in Southeast Asia. Dive into emerald green landscapes, meet orange-robed monks, and explore the mighty Mekong River, which winds through the length of the country, shaping life along its shores.
This school expedition is a journey into culture, nature, and self-discovery. It’s your chance to build resilience, develop teamwork, and connect with the heart of Thailand & Laos. Are you ready to experience it all?
“ Loved every part of the trip! From the food to the culture and most importantly the people. I will never forget the laughs we all shared with our leader and teachers.”
