The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

In the west, Thailand is the ultimate traveller’s paradise, where you can step off the tourist trail to connect with hill tribes, trek through tropical forests, and explore buzzing cities filled with glittering temples and sizzling street food.
Curving around northeast Thailand, Laos offers the most laidback vibes in Southeast Asia. Dive into emerald green landscapes, meet orange-robed monks, and cruise along the mighty Mekong River, a lifeline that weaves through the heart of this country.
Continue east to Vietnam, a land of floating markets, lantern-lit streets, and legendary limestone islands. Wander through vibrant cities, glide down waterways, and engage with hill tribes in the northern highlands.
