Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

Get ready for an East African adventure like no other. Powdery sands glisten along the coast, Africa’s tallest mountain rises in the north, and the south is home to untouched wilderness and rare glimpses of traditional life. This is where overland jeeps rumble across the Serengeti, trekkers aim for the snow-capped peaks of Kilimanjaro, and the Zanzibar islands offer a rich blend of history and culture.
Pile into a jeep, tune into your surroundings, and spot sleeping lions or cheetahs on the hunt. Share masala chai with Maasai warriors, engage with local communities, and experience life in mud hut villages. Haggle for handicrafts in vibrant markets, and trek across tribal heartlands to connect with Southern Tanzania’s diverse traditions and landscapes.
