The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

Powdery sands glisten along the coast, Africa’s tallest mountain rises in the north, and the south offers untouched wilderness and rare glimpses of traditional life. This is where overland jeeps rumble across the Serengeti, trekkers ascend snow-capped peaks, and the Zanzibar islands are steeped in history and cultural fusion.
Pile into a jeep and tune into your surroundings, spot sleeping lions in the shade or cheetahs on the hunt. Share masala chai with Maasai warriors, engage with local communities, and learn about daily life. Enter mud hut villages, haggle for colourful handicrafts in bustling markets, and trek across tribal heartlands to discover Northern Tanzania’s rich traditions.
