Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

Your school trip to Ecuador & Galapagos awaits
Pack your bags for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Ecuador, sitting right on the equator, is a small country bursting with natural beauty and rich culture. From the depths of the Amazon rainforest to the soaring peaks of the Andes, this overseas school trip takes you through bustling cities, ancient Inca ruins, and traditional indigenous villages.
Venture west across the Pacific Ocean to reach the Galapagos Islands, a place like nowhere else on Earth. Meet giant tortoises, marine iguanas, and blue-footed boobies as you explore an ecosystem that inspired Darwin’s theory of evolution. This student adventure will give you a whole new perspective on life, nature, and conservation.
More than just a journey, this school expedition is an opportunity to connect with local communities, explore biodiversity, and develop a deeper understanding of the world. Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime to Ecuador & Galapagos?
“ We had the most amazing time volunteering at a school, teaching the children games and songs. The clapping game, 'a sailor went to sea sea sea', was a particular favourite from my trip to Ecuador & Galapagos!”
