Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

Pack your bags for an unforgettable journey to two of the most beautiful countries in Southeast Asia, Cambodia & Thailand. Cambodia is a land of rolling plains, forested highlands, and the mighty Mekong River. On this overseas school trip, teamwork will be key as you creep through the jungle, venture into mountainous terrain, and delve into the past to explore ancient temples and sombre reminders of the Khmer Rouge regime.
Hop west across the border into Thailand, the ultimate traveller’s paradise. Head off the tourist trail to meet the hill tribes of the north or explore the tropical forests and paradise beaches in the south. Discover buzzing cities, gaze at golden Buddhas, and taste some of the most delicious food on the planet, from spicy curries to fragrant noodle dishes.
