Project Independence
Independent trips for those brave enough to take the road less travelled with a group of like-minded friends.
The project independence team is made up of students from all over the country excited to take the adventure of a lifetime. Running independently of school, you’ll get all the benefits of the training, support and safety of a World Challenge experience with a ready-made team of like-minded young travellers who you’ll get to know in the build up to the trip ahead. Each year, we hand select a list of the very best destinations and have (limited) spots available for those brave young souls ready to take up the challenge. All that’s left to do is choose your destination, sign up and put the dates in your diary.

Your school trip to Belize awaits
The only English-speaking nation in Central America, Belize may be small, but it packs a punch. Off its Caribbean coastline, you’ll find the world’s second-largest barrier reef, where turtles and manta rays glide past dazzling coral islands. Inland, lush jungles and towering mountains come alive with monkeys, iguanas, and mysterious Mayan ruins waiting to be explored.
On this overseas school trip, pack your bug spray and embrace the adventure. Clamber through dense jungles, explore ancient cities, and connect with coastal communities. Kick back on tropical beaches, practice your Spanish to order tacos and empanadas, and soak up the laidback vibe.
This school expedition is more than just travel, it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in a new culture, experience nature up close, and gain a deeper understanding of the rich heritage and ecosystems. Are you ready to dive into the magic?
“ The whole experience from start to finish was the best I've ever had. We met so many amazing people who changed our outlook on life when we arrived home.”
