An expedition on the Silk Route features Uzbekistan’s exotic bazaars, spell-binding architecture, camel trekking in the desert and friendly home-stays. And that’s before we mention the breathtaking high altitude treks in the Tien Shan mountain range in neighbouring Kyrgyzstan.

Heavenly trekking

Experience high altitude trekking on trails through pristine alpine forests, past huge glacial lakes and over high altitude passes. The enormous peaks of the Tien Shan mountain range span all the way to China. Relatively unexplored and isolated, trekking here offers simply stunning scenes.

Life in a yurt

Experience life in a Kyrgyz yurt, with their colourful, traditional woven textiles handed down through generations. Pros can erect these in an hour but we recommend you try staying in one already set up. See how easy they are to regulate light and temperature with, genius.

Explore the Red Sands of Kyzyl-Kum

Uzbekistan is home to one of the largest deserts in Asia. Hop on a double-humped Bactrain camel and get yourself in there. Keep an eye out, you might even spot tiny turtles, lizards and marmots from up top.

Marvel at the spell-binding architecture in Uzbekistan’s Silk Route cities of Samarkand and Bukhara. With heritage as old as Rome it stands testament to a crossroad of cultures having been ruled by everyone from the Persians to the famed Mongol, Genghis Khan.
