What happens on expedition

Build your adventure

Watch wild whales

Head out to sea to catch a glimpse of resident puffins and wild whales. April to September is prime season with over twenty species of whales to spot, look out for everything from the baby harbour porpoises and orca to the almighty humpback and blue whales.

See the earth tear apart

Feel the drama of Þingvellir national park, a landscape born between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Just 45 minutes from Reykjavík this UNESCO World Heritage site is yours to explore on foot. Walk through history as you learn that here the Vikings set up the world’s first demographic parliament.

Dodge erupting geysers

Watch steaming vents erupt from the earth at the Geyser Geothermal Area where volcanic activity is brought to the surface in front of your eyes. Take in the vividly coloured soils nurtured from volcanic minerals, hot pools and venting fumaroles shooting water 30m high into the air.

Hike multicolored mountains

Set off on the adventurous Laugavegur Trail, trekking from hot springs through volcanic wastelands to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk. Breathe in the views of lush valleys peppered with waterfalls, multi-coloured mountains and huge icy glaciers.
